Life has been very busy, and print-making has been very minimal. However, I've now retired as a midwife and am excited to have the time to create again. I have only made art for pure expression, and for New Years cards, or to commemorate a special event in the lives of my friends and family. Many have never been posted yet, I am now going to update my portfolio and make these prints available as editions and cards.
I lived in Nayoro, Hokkaido in Northern Japan for the first 18 years of my life. I learned how to do woodblock prints as a child as it was the folk tradition to make New Years cards, often depicting the Zodiac. Gradually, I started to make prints about other themes in my life.
This collection spans over a twenty-six year period.
I am now a mother of two and work as a registered midwife and my art gets sprinkled in between.
